Awesome functionality, but the UI needs lots of polishing!
Looking forward to this!

Why couldn’t this work with XP Media Center as well?

…..or Vista Media Center?

Because it requires a plugin to be installed on the media center PC to interface with the MCM app on the phone, and that plugin is only being written to work with Windows 7 media centers. Theoretically it could probably work on Windows Vista so long as the TVPack is installed, but there were many changes made to the APIs and SDK when the TVPack came out for Vista which makes compatibility for both challenging.

Thanks for your prompt reply!! Updating XP Media Center to Win7 is a nightmare….and Vista is working fine…but sounds like I may have to update at some point. I loved Orb TV, but it doesn’t work with WP7…dangit! :)

Meines Erachtens die erste Killer APP für WP7 – habe mir alles dazu durchgelesen und kanns gar nicht erwarten bis die APp kommt – das Meteor Projekt sollten wir echt supporten

To be honest, the only reason I started writing MCM was because I got tired of waiting for Meteor. I saw the Meteor information before WP7 was even released and was looking forward to it when I got my phone. Unfortunately, it’s now been nearly 4 months since the last information was posted about Meteor, even though Ben has stated publicly several times that he was going to post more info.

Yeah, sorry about the lack of info over the last few months. You know you can always contact me on twitter: @thenoumenon or @thelanddolphin if you want infos or to discuss stuff. Always keen to chat

This looks great. Any update when its going to be available?

I’m working hard on it.
It’s a pretty complex app, so it’s taking me some time. I was hoping to have it out by the end of the month, but I’m not sure I’ll hit that. Some features I planned for the first version will likely get pushed back to a subsequent update, but the first version will be extremely usable still.
